Bio

Valeria Charitidou was born in Georgia and began playing the piano when
five years old. She studied with Inessa Tschovrebashvili and graduated from
the Tiblisi Experimental School of Music in 2003.

She continued her studies at the National Conservatoire of Thessaloniki-
Greece, in the class of Victoria Victoratou, where she graduated with honors
in 2007. Afterwards she continue her studies and graduated from Lemmens
School of Art in Leuven(Belgium),in the class of Joop Celis. Meanwhile she
attended master classes by well known artists such as Dora Bakopoulou,
Bernard Ringaissen, Anna Kulikova and George – Emmanuel Lazaridis.

She has since performed with orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra
of the Mediterranean, the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki, the Municipal
Orchestra of Thessaloniki, Syphonic Band of Thessaloniki, Orchestra
Sinfonica Ciudad de Elche , and given a plethora of recitals and chamber
music concerts in Georgia, Greece,Poland,Italy,Spain and Cyprus,
collaborating with international artists such as Rudolf Koelman,
BohuslavMatusek, Bulent Evcil,Vicente Campos and others. In September
2011 she participated in the opening gala concert of the Demetria
International Festival and, in December 2012 she gave her debut concert at
the prestigious Thessaloniki Concert Halls, The Megaron. In April 2013 she
recorded for the 3rd Program of the Greek National Radio and appeared as
soloist with the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki during nation-wide
celebrations for the European Day of Music.
In 2021 participated in Ohrid Summer Festival in chamber music concert and
in 2023 in Santorini Summer Festival.

Aside from her many activities as a performer, Valeria Charitidou is also
leading a career as sought after accompanist and pedagogue. She was
appointed official accompanist at the Athitos Summer Academy (2008), at the
Youth Orchestra of Cyprus Seminars (2009), at the Summer Academy of
Arnea (2012) etc. and is currently collaborating with institutions such as the
American College of Thessaloniki Alumni Choir, the Friends of Music
Association of Thessaloniki, the Megaron Organization and others. She was
recently appointed piano professor at the Municipal Conservatoire of
Thessaloniki and accompanist at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and
Neo Conservstory of Thessaloniki.
